"On the Move": Englischkurse der J2 im Theater Pfalzbau

Am 31.03.25 besuchten die Englisch-Leistungskurse zusammen mit ihren Lehrerinnen Frau Krieg, Frau Landgraf, Frau Lang und Frau Wallenwein die Theateraufführung "On the Move" im Theater im Pfalzbau, Ludwigshafen.

Hier eine paar Schülerstimmen zu unserem Theaterbesuch:

I was very much impressed by the acting skills of the actors and how perfectly they embodied the different characters from the short stories. I loved how much emotion and liveliness all of the actors put into their acting, making the show enjoyable and stunning as well as captivating. Would recommend! :)

The theatre play "On the Move", which we saw on Monday this week, took place in Ludwigshafen at the Pfalzbau stage. I think the play was very well done; it was fun to watch, and the actors conveyed the short stories effectively. The stage design, combined with the lighting and scenery, felt very refreshing. However, some of the short stories were either a bit too short or too long, which sometimes led to their deeper meanings being overlooked. Nevertheless, the play was good for delving deeper into the stories.

We saw the play "On the Move" three days ago in the theater "Pfalzbau". In general, I enjoyed the show and was quite impressed with how some techniques were used to convey a story that is difficult to translate into a theater setting. Especially the first short story, "Exterior Paint", was played well by the actors and seemed very thought out. Additionally, I particularly liked how "The Solider's Tale" was restructured into an interview between the migration officer and Salim. This made the story much easier to grasp and allowed for the main aspects of the short story to be conveyed more easily. However, some other short stories played out felt a little unpolished. For instance, "The Thing Around Your Neck" had way too much self-narration of the protagonist for my liking. Akunna, instead of acting out an action or situation, instead just SAID that she was in this situation or did something. Lastly, "Green" was played in the end but didn't really succeed in conveying the story's content. "Green" was performed in the style of a rapped musical and thus failed to show all aspects and settings of the story, which made it appear rushed. Despite some of these issues, I overall enjoyed my experience in the theater. For future students, I would definetely recommend plays like this in preparation for the finals.

Yesterday, we visited the " Pfalzbau ", a theatre in Ludwigshafen . We went there to watch serveral short stories from a collection we had read in class. This book focuses on putting down roots while constantly being on the move . It is a book that stresses the importance of migration and what it does to people's lives.  (...) In general, I would not say that the play was something I loved - but this is mainly due to the content of the short storries. Personally, I think the actors did a great job and made the best of the material they had to work with. Also, the Pfalzbau is a very nice theatre . Overall, I would also argue that it is absolutely worth visting the Pfalzbau; especially if the same actors are in charge but with a different topic. Nevertheless, I would reccomend it for the next " Oberstufe" because you could still learn something and it is a variation from the typical school day.
